Three of family killed in KSRTC bus auto collision in Wayanad

Three members of a family were killed after a KSRTC bus collided with an autorickshaw at Vythiri here on Monday

Wayanad (Kerala) | Three members of a family were killed after a KSRTC bus collided with an autorickshaw at Vythiri here on Monday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Narayanan M A (44), his wife Shiji (46), and son Amal (15), all natives of Pazhoor in Cheeral.

According to police, the accident occurred around 7 am at Kunnathidavaka near Old Vythiri.

Police said Narayanan and his family were travelling along the Kozhikode road when a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) high-speed long-route "Minnal" (lightening) bus, which was on its way to Mananthavady, collided with the autorickshaw.

All three, including Narayanan who was driving the autorickshaw, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Vythiri Police have registered a case against the KSRTC bus driver and initiated an investigation.

The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem, police added.
