Social security and welfare board pension distribution from May 25: CM Satheesan

Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Tuesday said that the social security and welfare board pension for this month will be distributed from May 25 onwards.

Satheesan, in a statement issued by his office, also said that Rs 1,070 crore had been allocated for the purpose.

The state government provides Rs 2,000 per month as social security and welfare pension to 62 lakh eligible persons in Kerala.

The pension amount was increased to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,600 at the fag end of the last LDF government.

The Left government cleared all pension payments till the month of April 2026.

The UDF, during its poll campaign, had promised to hike the pension to Rs 3,000 but has not implemented it yet.
