Kasaragod(Keralam) | Six people were injured, one of them grievously, after two cars collided head-on with a truck transporting logs near Kanyappadi here in the small hours of Sunday, police said.

An officer of Badiadukka police station said that the incident occurred around 1am when the cars coming from Kumbla side collided head-on with the truck coming from the opposite side.

The officer said that the locals immediately shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.

The locals reportedly claimed that the two cars were travelling at high speed and racing with each other.

The officer said that the reason for the accident is not known yet.

He said that there were nine people travelling in the two cars and they all were from the same family.

"They were returning from some celebration. We have called for the family members of the injured. No FIR has been registered as yet," the officer said.
