Satheesan receives rousing welcome from supporters at Ernakulam Railway Station

Kochi | Congress leader V D Satheesan was accorded a rousing welcome by party workers when he arrived at the Ernakulam railway station here on Tuesday evening.

The activists of the Kerala Student Union (KSU), student wing of the Congress, and party workers flooded the railway platform.

They waved flags of the students' body and placards of Satheesan, a chief minister hopeful, and then carried him on their shoulders when he got off the train.

Outside the station, there was an even larger crowd waiting for him with bouquets and shawls.

Satheesan then waved to his supporters, shook their hands and accepted their gifts from the sunroof of his vehicle as the activists shouted congratulations and slogans in his favour.

Slogans like 'Jai jai V D Satheesan' and 'V D Satheesan zindabad' were also raised by his supporters.

Finally, after they allowed his vehicle to move forward, with him waving to everyone out of the sunroof, the supporters began shouting "VDS" and "CM".

They continued shouting it as his vehicle inched towards the exit of the railway station complex.
