Prayatna Launches Free Mobile App 'Kidsight' to Track Child Growth and Development

Prayatna Launches Free Mobile App 'Kidsight' to Track Child Growth and Development; Kochi Mayor Adv. V. K. Minimol launches it on World Occupational Therapy Day

Kochi | As part of the World Occupational Therapy Day observances, Prayatna Center for Child Development unveiled 'Kidsight', a free mobile application designed to screen and evaluate early childhood growth and developmental stages, during their special event titled 'OPPAM'. The digital app, developed by Prayatna, was officially launched by Mayor of Kochi Corporation, Adv. V. K. Minimol.

"In today's fast-paced life, parents often find it challenging to track their child's subtle physical and mental growth milestones. Prevention and early identification are always better than treating a condition late. The 'Kidsight' app will be immensely helpful for parents to identify developmental variations early on and seek timely guidance and support for their children." said Mayor Adv. V. K. Minimol during the launch.

'Kidsight' is designed to help parents better understand their child's physical and cognitive progress through age-appropriate developmental screening. The app addresses parental concerns, offers preliminary guidance, and provides access to educational videos and informative resources. Additionally, it features an option for parents to share specific developmental concerns regarding their children. This app helps is for initial screening and understanding of a child's development, not for a medical diagnosis. 'Kidsight' is available for free download on both Android and iOS platforms.

"Every child's growth path is unique, and as parents, it is crucial to support them at every step. While the app offers preliminary screening and guidance, it helps parents build early awareness and recognize when professional evaluation or intervention may be needed.” said Dr. Joseph Sunny Kunnacherry, Founder & Director - Prayatna Centre for Child Development.

The event 'OPPAM', which drew enthusiastic public participation at Oberon Mall, was attended by Councillor Shibi Soman, Oberon Mall Center Manager Monu Nair, and representatives from Prayatna. As part of the OT Day activities, interactive therapy-based stalls and engagement games were organized for children and adults alike. Significance of such activities and games in the stalls were explained to their parents/caregivers through experience, making them understand how challenging these daily routines can be to children.
