Nursing assistant held for attempting to molest woman at hospital

A 47-year-old male nursing assistant has been arrested for allegedly trying to molest a patient at a state-run taluk hospital in Kannur district.

Kannur (Ker) | A 47-year-old male nursing assistant has been arrested for allegedly trying to molest a patient at a state-run taluk hospital in Kannur district.

The accused was identified as Daniel, a native of Manathana, police said on Wednesday.

The alleged incident took place on Sunday when the complainant woman sought treatment at the government taluk hospital in Kuthuparamba, where the man was working as a nursing assistant.

Quoting the 23-year-old woman, the police said Daniel had tried to molest her while dressing her wounds.

He allegedly spoke to her in an obscene manner and touched her inappropriately.

She then registered a complaint at the state-run helpline number, based on which police arrested him the very next day after conducting a preliminary probe.

He was produced before a local court, which granted him bail later, the police added.
