MDMA worth over 250g seized from ambulance in Thrissur, two held

More than 250 grams of MDMA were seized from an ambulance during a vehicle inspection in this central Kerala district on Tuesday morning, police said

Thrissur (Kerala) | More than 250 grams of MDMA were seized from an ambulance during a vehicle inspection in this central Kerala district on Tuesday morning, police said.

The search was carried out jointly by the Thrissur District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force and the Highway Police after they received a confidential tip-off about the vehicle passing through the Peechi station limits.

The ambulance was stopped and checked at around 6.30 am. The narcotic substance was reportedly hidden inside the beacon light fitted on top of the ambulance, police said.

Two persons were taken into custody in connection with the case, and the accused were allegedly attempting to transport the drugs covertly using the ambulance.

Further investigation is underway to determine where the MDMA came from and whether more people are involved in the racket, police added.
