The arrested accused was identified as Fakir Mondal, a native of Krishnaganj in Nadia district of West Bengal.

According to police, the West Bengal Police recently alerted their Kerala counterparts that Mondal, who was wanted in the murder case, had reached Perumbavoor.

Acting on the information, the Perumbavoor police launched a search and traced him to a rented house at Mudikkal on Thursday night.

A team from the West Bengal Police later reached Perumbavoor and took the accused into custody, officials said.
