Man held for stabbing relative to death over suspicion of wife's affair in Kerala

A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his relative to death after suspecting that his wife was having an extra-marital relationship with the victim in Alappuzha, police said on Monday.

Alappuzha | A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his relative to death after suspecting that his wife was having an extra-marital relationship with the victim in Alappuzha, police said on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Maneesh (29), a resident of South Thumboli.

Police arrested the accused, Robin, who is a relative of the victim.

According to police, Robin suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital relationship with Maneesh.

On Sunday at around 4 pm, Robin reached Maneesh's house after learning that his wife was there, police said.

In a fit of rage, Robin allegedly first attacked his wife with a knife.

When Maneesh tried to rescue her, the accused allegedly stabbed him.

Both were rushed to hospital, but Maneesh succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Robin's wife sustained serious injuries, but her condition is stated to be stable, police said.

Alappuzha North Police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused.

The body of the deceased will be handed over to the relatives after postmortem examination, police said.

The arrested accused will be produced before a court as part of the remand proceedings
