Kochi | A man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a popular Malayalam film actress at Kaloor here, police said on Saturday.

The accused has been identified as Vibin Roy, a native of Kathrikadavu.

According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening, when the actress was walking towards a shop on Stadium Link Road in Kaloor.

Police said Roy allegedly followed the actress and molested her before fleeing the spot.

The actress later approached the police with a complaint, following which a case was registered at the Palarivattom police station.

Police said Roy had been repeatedly sending messages to the actress on a social media platform, and she had blocked him.

Agitated over this, he allegedly followed the actress and misbehaved with her.

Following a probe, police identified the accused and arrested him on Friday night.

He will be produced before a court soon as part of remand proceedings.
