Man hacked to death by neighbour following drunken brawl in Kollam

A 30-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his neighbour following a drunken brawl at Moozhikkodu here, police said on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Adarsh (30) of Mullikkala, Moozhikkodu.

Police have taken his neighbour Sunil Kumar (41) into custody.

According to officials at Kottarakkara police station, Adarsh and Kumar consumed liquor together on Wednesday night.

However, a fight broke out between the two at Kumar's house.

Kumar allegedly hacked Adarsh multiple times, police said.

Later at midnight, Adarsh contacted the police and informed them about the incident.

Police soon reached Kumar's house and took him into custody.

Kottarakkara police registered a murder case and launched an investigation. Kumar's arrest was recorded after interrogation.

The body will be handed over to the relatives after postmortem, police said.
