Man, daughter die by suicide in Kerala''s Kasaragod: police

A man and his daughter have allegedly died by suicide in their home at Chemnad here, police said on Sunday.

Kasaragod (Kerala) | A man and his daughter have allegedly died by suicide in their home at Chemnad here, police said on Sunday.

An officer of Melparamba police station said that according to residents, the 48-year-old father told neighbours that his 16-year-old daughter had hanged herself.

According to the neighbours, he then went and closed the doors of the house and allegedly hanged himself in the same room, the officer said.

He said that the inquest proceedings are going on and the reason for the alleged suicides is not yet known.

The man's wife, who works as a home nurse, was not at home when the incident occurred, police added.
