Malabar River Festival to be held from July 30

The 12th edition of the Malabar river festival, regarded as one of the largest white-water kayaking competitions in the continent and the biggest adventure sports events in the country, will be held from July 30 to August 2 in this district.

The four-day festival will be organised at Chalipuzha and Iruvanjipuzha rivers, according to an official statement.

The event is being organised by the Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS) under the aegis of the state Tourism Department, in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) and local self-government institutions.

The festival is expected to attract leading kayakers and adventure sports enthusiasts from India and abroad.

A meeting of the organising committee will be held in the chamber of the District Collector on June 1 at 3 pm to review preparations for the event, the statement added.
