Thiruvananthapuram | LSGD Principal Director Divya S Iyer on Friday refuted reports of differences with her colleague, T V Anupama, Special Secretary of the department, amid speculation about the launch of separate cleaning programmes.
The reports emerged after the two IAS officers recently announced cleaning programmes under different names.
Local Self-Government Department (LSGD) Minister K M Shaji had also dismissed reports of differences among the officers, saying there was healthy competition in the department.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Iyer clarified that there was no fight or competition in the department.
"There is no fight. Nor is there any competition in the struggle," she said.
She said that all she has heard about herself in the media and on social media until today has been allegations that she loves, embraces, and praises people.
"Now, when I hear words like fight, competition, and division, a firm conviction rises in my mind that this is not me, nor is it about me. These are emotions that we have never felt toward anyone, not even for a single day," she said.
Iyer said they had carried out their official duties in accordance with clear instructions and urged an end to what she described as imaginative and speculative campaigns.
She also quoted a poem by young poet Aadi, saying, "The fight is between great truths and little lies." "That is the only fight there is," she added.
