Lightning strike damages house in Thrissur, injures three

Three members of a family were injured after a wall of their house collapsed on them following a lightning strike here on Saturday, police said.

The injured were identified as Manoj (42), his wife Smruthi (34), and their daughter Dhwani (7), residents of Manathala near Chavakkad.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3 am when lightning struck the house, causing one of its walls to collapse onto the family members.

Relatives rushed them to a nearby hospital, and their condition is stated to be stable, police said.

With summer showers intensifying, lightning strikes have been reported from various parts of the state during evening and night hours.

On Friday, 11 devotees returning after visiting a temple in Idukki were injured in a lightning strike.
