Kochi | Crowne Plaza Kochi officially marked the start of this year's Christmas celebrations in the city with a special cake mixing ceremony, creating a joyous and festive atmosphere. Popular actress Nikhila Vimal was the chief guest of the programme.
" The cake mixing event captures the true spirit of Christmas, bringing people together and transforming a time-honored tradition into a memory worth cherishing," said Mr. Dinesh Rai, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Kochi. He added that with the support of the community partner, Round Table India, the first batch of cakes, once ready, will be sent to the children of Raksha Society for the Care of Children with Special Needs, spreading even more joy and love during the festive season.
The event showcased an extravagant display of 3,500 kilograms of fruit mix, featuring premium dried fruits and nuts blended with exotic spices. The mix was infused with 300 liters of red wine and 75 liters of honey to create the rich base for the festive plum cakes. Director of Culinary, Chef Kalesh, explained the process to attendees, highlighting that the mixture will be left to ferment for 60 days before being folded into the cake dough this December. This year, the hotel is baking 12,000 rich plum cakes and is now accepting pre-orders.
The event, which concluded with a delightful high tea, attracted a diverse audience, including celebrities, influencers, corporate partners, hotel patrons, and in-house guests.
