The Kerala government on Thursday decided to impose a 52-day trawling ban in the state's coastal waters from June 10 to July 31.

Thiruvananthapuram | The Kerala government on Thursday decided to impose a 52-day trawling ban in the state's coastal waters from June 10 to July 31.

Chief Minister V D Satheesan announced the decision while briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

The annual ban is aimed at protecting marine resources and supporting the fish breeding season.

During this period, trawling operations will not be permitted along the Kerala coast
