Thiruvananthapuram | The Kerala Police's official mobile application, POL-APP, which provides over 30 police-related services online, has received an encouraging response from the public, with around 1.7 million downloads since its launch.

Launched in June 2020, the app was introduced to enable citizens to access various police services online without having to visit police stations in person, according to an official statement on Saturday.

The application offers a range of services, including access to contact details of all police stations and senior police officers in the state, downloading police clearance certificates (NIOC) and FIR reports, applying for permission to use loudspeakers, obtaining general diary copies related to road accidents, and paying treasury fees for police services.

It also provides Janamaithri services for senior citizens, safety features for women and children, the "Track My Trip" facility for women travelling alone and elderly citizens, information for train passengers and blood donors, internet safety tips and a tourist guide, among other services.

Designed with a user-friendly interface, the app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The Kerala police, in the statement, urged the public to download and make use of the application, describing it as one of the country's most popular public service apps, the statement said.
