The MVD said the survey is aimed at taking public opinion into account while assessing the legal aspects of vehicle modifications, It said the feedback would help frame a policy that accommodates the aspirations of vehicle enthusiasts without compromising road safety and environmental standards.

People can participate in the survey by accessing the Google Form through the link or QR code provided in the Facebook post. The last date for submitting suggestions is August 7, it said.

The initiative assumes political significance as permitting safe and non-hazardous vehicle modifications was one of the key promises made by the Congress-led UDF in the recent Assembly elections, a proposal that had found considerable support among the youth in the state.
