Swearing-in of MLAs of 16th Kerala Legislative Assembly commences

The swearing-in was carried out in alphabetical order, starting with IUML MLA V E Abdul Gafoor who won from the Kalamassery assembly seat.

Chief Minister V D Satheesan was at the 105th number to be sworn in, while Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan was at the 133rd number in the list.

The last person to be sworn-in would be Xavier Chitilappilly, the CPI(M) MLA elected from the Wadakkanchery assembly constituency.

The Congress-led UDF won 102 of the 140 seats, while the LDF got 35 and the BJP got 3.

The swearing-in of Chief Minister V D Satheesan and the 21-member Cabinet, including him, was held on May 18.
