Kerala: Man falls from moving train, dies

A migrant worker died after falling from a moving train at Chalakudy here, police said on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Dinesh Hembram (32), a native of Araria district in Bihar.

According to police, Hembram and his relatives were travelling in the unreserved coach of the Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express.

The coach was heavily crowded and at around 9.40 pm on Saturday, Hembram went to the toilet.

While returning from the toilet, he accidentally fell from the moving train near the door of the coach.

After the emergency brake was applied, the train was stopped, and Hembram was shifted to Chalakudy Taluk Hospital.

Police said he had suffered serious head injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Chalakudy police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.

The body will be handed over to relatives after the post-mortem examination, police added.
