Kochi | The Kerala High Court has sought response of the state government on a PIL initiated by the court regarding alleged large-scale tree-felling and unauthorised construction on several acres of the Cardamom Hill Reserve area of Idukki district.

The High Court initiated the public interest litigation on its own on Wednesday based on news reports of the tree-felling.

The court has issued notice to the state government and its forest department seeking their stand on the matter.
