Kerala CM meets Kharge, Venugopal during first Delhi visit after taking office

Kerala CM V D Satheesan on Saturday met senior Congress leaders in the national capital during his first visit to New Delhi after assuming office

New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Saturday met senior Congress leaders in the national capital during his first visit to New Delhi after assuming office.

Satheesan called on Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal at their residences here.

The chief minister, who arrived in Delhi late last night, was accorded a warm reception by party workers and leaders.

Congress sources said the organisational matters and issues related to the new UDF government in Kerala figured in their discussion.

The visit also happened amid discussions within the party over the selection of a new Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, sources added.

The Congress-led UDF had registered a historic victory in the recent Kerala Assembly elections, returning to power in the state after a gap of a decade.
