Kerala-based engineers being part of Vikram 1 matter of immense pride for state: CM Satheesan

Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Tuesday said it was a matter of immense pride for the state to see young tech minds from Kerala leading crucial domains at Skyroot Aerospace and playing pivotal roles in developing India’s historic 'Vikram 1' rocket mission.

Thiruvananthapuram | Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Tuesday said it was a matter of immense pride for the state to see young tech minds from Kerala leading crucial domains at Skyroot Aerospace and playing pivotal roles in developing India’s historic 'Vikram 1' rocket mission.

Hyderabad-based Skyroot last month successfully launched India's first privately developed orbital-class rocket, Vikram-1.

Satheesan's remarks on social media platform X came after his meeting with the Kerala-based engineers of Skyroot.

The CM met with seven out of the 14 engineers from Kerala who played crucial roles in connection with the launch of Vikram-1, his office said in a statement.

Satheesan shared photographs of the meeting on X with a post that said, "Delighted to meet the brilliant team of Malayali engineers from @SkyrootAero, who played pivotal roles in developing India’s historic 'Vikram 1' rocket mission".

"It is a moment of immense pride for Kerala to see our young tech minds leading crucial domains from electro-mechanical systems and propulsion to fluid control, avionics, and quality assurance at @SkyrootA."

He also thanked them for their gifts -- a specialised 'Space Pen' for writing without hindrance in zero gravity and the book 'The Second Orbit' by Shubhanshu Shukla.

"Wishing the entire 14-member Malayali team and @SkyrootAero all the success in pushing the frontiers of India's commercial space sector!" he said on X.
