Kottayam (Keralam) | Three members of a family were found dead by hanging at their residence here on Saturday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Saju Antony (64), his wife Anu (59) and their son Savin (34).

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide, with the bodies found hanging in different rooms of the house in Changanassery.

According to police, relatives tried to contact the family members on Saturday morning but received no response.

They later reached the house, located near SB College, and found it locked from inside.

The relatives broke open the house and found Saju and Anu hanging in their bedroom, while Savin's body was found in a storeroom, police said.

Police reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the family might have been facing financial difficulties, though a detailed investigation is under way to establish the circumstances leading to the deaths, police said.
