Explosive thrown at Cong supporter's home in Kannur district

An explosive has been thrown at the home of a Congress supporter in the politically sensitive Payyanur area of this north Kerala district on the previous night, police said

Kannur (Kerala) | An explosive has been thrown at the home of a Congress supporter in the politically sensitive Payyanur area of this north Kerala district on the previous night, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred late Monday night, police said.

The explosive thrown was not a bomb, but a big firecracker, they said.

It hit a flexboard there and damaged it, but did not harm the house or its occupants, police said.

An officer of Payyanur police station said that no complaint has been received in this regard, and no case has been registered.
