Boy dies in scooter-lorry collision in Kerala's Kollam

A teenage boy died after the scooter in which he was travelling with his mother collided with a tipper lorry in Kerala's Kollam district on Saturday

Kollam | A teenage boy died after the scooter in which he was travelling with his mother collided with a tipper lorry in Kerala's Kollam district on Saturday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Salman Faris (14), a resident of Ayath.

The accident occurred near Palkulangara at around 7.30 am, they said.

According to police, the scooter rider lost control while attempting to overtake the lorry after hitting an oncoming two-wheeler, causing the vehicle to fall beneath the lorry.

The woman and her son were thrown off the scooter in opposite directions, with the boy falling under the lorry. He died after the vehicle ran over him, police said.
