Thiruvananthpuram | Ahead of the nationwide bank strike called by the joint banking trade unions from September 28 to 30, the SLBC has advised customers to plan their banking transactions in advance and make maximum use of digital and alternative banking services.

The State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) has directed all member banks in the state to take necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted availability of digital banking services and adequate cash availability at ATMs.

The Committee, in a statement, has also urged customers to complete any banking transactions that require physical visits to branches before the strike period.

Customers can avail themselves of banking services through UPI, QR code-based payments, mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), debit and credit cards, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), Business Correspondents (BCs), Customer Service Points (CSPs), and other available channels, it said.

The State Level Bankers' Committee, in coordination with member banks, the Reserve Bank of India, government authorities and Lead Bank Offices, is monitoring preparations to minimise disruptions to banking services and ensure the continuity of essential banking services.

The SLBC also stated that the latest information related to the strike and banking services would be communicated through the official websites of banks, SMS alerts and social media platforms, the statement added.
