Kochi | Aster Medcity, Aster Volunteers, and the Varghese Moolans Group successfully hosted the fifth phase of the Spandanam – Touch A Heart initiative, providing free cardiac care to 23 underprivileged children under 18. This phase supported families from across Kerala including Palakkad, Wayanad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kollam, who were previously unable to access treatment for congenital heart disease. Of those attended, 15 children will receive interventional procedures and the remaining will undergo full cardiac surgery, with all testing and follow-up care provided.

Led by Dr. Edwin Francis, Director and Senior Consultant of Paediatric Cardiology, the specialized team at Aster Medcity, Kochi, diagnosed the children.

The event was attended by Dr. Varghese Moolan, Chairman of the Varghese Moolan Foundation, and Dr. Nalanda Jayadev, CEO of Aster Medcity, alongside a team of expert pediatric cardiac doctors.
