Kochi | Aster Medcity has launched the Aster PMR – Advanced Neurorehab Centre, a dedicated facility that brings together traditional Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation techniques and advanced neuro-rehabilitation technology to help patients rebuild mobility, independence and confidence after illness or injury. The centre was formally inaugurated by Roji M. John, Minister for Higher Education.
 
“Healthcare cannot be limited to merely treating a disease, restoring lost mobility, independence and confidence into a patient's life is equally a part of it’ said Roji M. John, Minister for Higher Education.  Congratulating the centre on its launch, he said the government will fully support initiatives like this.

Along with the Robotic Gaiter and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, the centre introduces facilities being made available in Kerala for the first time, including the Cardiac Ergometer and rTMS R30, opening up new possibilities for patient recovery and a return to independent living.

Speaking on the importance of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the new possibilities it opens up in Neurorehabilitation, Dr. K M Mathew, Lead & Senior Consultant, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation said rehabilitation is not the final stage of treatment but the beginning of a patient's return to life.
