Around 40 people were injured when two private buses collided at Punnol near New Mahe here on Wednesday

Thalassery (Kerala) | Around 40 people were injured when two private buses collided at Punnol near New Mahe here on Wednesday, police said.

The accident occurred at around 12.30 pm when two limited-stop buses operating on the Thalassery-Kozhikode route collided, they said.

The injured were shifted to various hospitals in Thalassery for treatment, police said.

None of the injuries was believed to be serious, they said.

Preliminary investigation suggests that speeding by both buses may have caused the accident, police added.
