Alappuzha (Kerala) | Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Monday held a massive roadshow in Haripad in the coastal district ahead of the April 9 Kerala Assembly polls, campaigning for NDA candidate Sandeep Vachaspati.

Hundreds of NDA workers, many wearing party headgear and carrying BJP flags, joined the roadshow.

Supporters raised slogans and waved cut-outs of Shah and Vachaspati as the procession moved through the town.

The roadshow began from Gandhi Square and passed through key areas of Haripad. Despite rain during the event, the crowd remained energetic.

Shah greeted supporters along the route, while party workers joined the roadshow, cheering and showing their support for the NDA candidate.

The event drew attention in the coastal constituency, where campaigning has intensified in the final phase before polling.

The Haripad Assembly seat is witnessing a close three-cornered contest.

The Congress has renominated sitting MLA and senior leader Ramesh Chennithala, while the ruling LDF has fielded CPI candidate T T Jismon.
