Actor Kundera Johny passed away

Kollam | Actor Kundera Johny passed away. He was 73 years old, end came due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a private hospital at Kollam due to chest pain.

A native of Kundera, Kollam, Johny became active in the cinema in 1979 with the film Agniparvatham.

In early days Johny’s presence as Malayalam villain roles was very prominent. Johny, whose character of Parameswaran in Kereedom and his role in Chenkole with Mohanlal was very impressive, acted in more than 100 films like Kazhukan, Chandrakumar's Agniparvatham, Karimbana, Rajinigandhi, Bharat Chandran IPS etc. He proved that he can also play comedy roles through his role as a gangster in Nadodikattu.

Apart from Malayalam, Johny also acted in some films in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages. His last film was Mepadiyaan starring Unni Mukundan in the lead role.

Johny was born to Joseph and Catherine in Kundera in Kollam district. He was educated at Fatima Mata College, Kollam and Sri Narayana College.

He was the captain of the Kollam district football team during his college days. His wife is Stella, a teacher at Fatima Matha National College, Kollam.
