Kozhikode (Keralam) | A 65-year-old man died after the car he was travelling in allegedly hit a wall and caught fire at Chevayur here early Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred around 5 am in an area under the Medical College police station limits.

The deceased was identified as Sudhakaran, a native of Chevayur.

According to preliminary information, the car lost control while coming down a steep slope, hit a wall and caught fire. However, police are also checking whether the car caught fire before hitting the wall.

As part of the probe, police are collecting CCTV visuals. A forensic team has arrived at the spot.

The body will be handed over to relatives after post-mortem examination, police said.
