A 24-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her male friend at North Paravur near here on Thursday

Kochi | A 24-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her male friend at North Paravur near here on Thursday, police said.

Suramya, a native of Choondi in Aluva, was allegedly stabbed by Shibin (32) at his house in Thuruthippuram under the Vadakkekkara police station limits in the morning, they said.

The two had been in a relationship for some time but had recently fallen out, police said, adding that an argument over their relationship allegedly led to the attack.

Suramya had gone to Shibin's house, where the two got into an argument, following which he allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon, police said.

Shibin, who sustained injuries, was taken into custody, and his arrest is likely to be recorded soon, police added.
