The Kerala High Court on Monday sought a response from the state on the bail plea moved by a co-accused in the Mini Cooper accident case that had resulted in the loss of three lives.

Kochi | The Kerala High Court on Monday sought a response from the state on the bail plea moved by a co-accused in the Mini Cooper accident case that had resulted in the loss of three lives.

Justice Kauser Edappagath directed the public prosecutor to get instructions on the bail plea by Joyal S Anto and listed the matter along with the application moved by main accused Suhail seeking a similar relief. Both matters have been listed on November 6.

Suhail's plea was taken up by the High Court on October 30, and the prosecutor was directed to get instructions regarding his application for bail.

The two have moved the High Court for bail after the relief was denied to them by the Angamaly Magistrate Court and the Ernakulam Sessions Court. Besides them, there are two other accused -- Ninav and Ameen Sha -- in the case.

Suhail was driving the luxury car and the other three were inside it when it rammed into a three-wheeler carrying two young women and their male friend, killing all three of them on the spot.

According to the police, Suhail was drunk at the time and was driving the vehicle at a very high speed.

The incident occurred at around 1.45 am on October 11.
