Wheat farmers stage chakka jam

Indore | Enraged over purchase of wheat at low prices, farmers created a ruckus on Tuesday morning at the Laxmibai Mandi. They then took to the streets and blocked the MR-5 Road.

Farmers alleged that traders were extracting profits by buying wheat at low prices. After getting the information, the officers reached the spot and convinced the agitating farmers and on their advice, farmers called off the chakka jam. It was only after this that trading in the mandi resumed.
