Bhopal | The Bhopal chapter of the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham is to host the Vaikom Satyagraha Centenary Conference, alongside presenting the prestigious Gopan Nellikkal Smruti Puraskar. The function is scheduled for June 30 at 3 pm at Hema School Auditorium.
KR Kishore will inaugurate the event and deliver a lecture on ‘Renaissance in Contemporary Times’. Last October, PuKaSa organized a short story and poetry competition in memory of Gopan Nellikkal, a revered writer and social activist, specifically for participants residing outside Kerala. Acclaimed journalist Kattoor Murali's story 'Kalapani' and Chennai-based social activist Sajid Muhammed’s poem 'Thervu Thendunna Penkutti' have been selected for the prestigious award, to be presented during the event.
Malavika Pillai, who secured the first rank from Swathi Thirunal Music College in Thiruvananthapuram, will be felicitated at the event. The programme will feature a diverse array of arts and cultural performances, including painting, elocution, poetry recitals and dance.
