Bhopal | The road from Allahabad Bank, Piplani to new Bypass will be completed by the public works department at a cost of 25 crores. This was stated by MLA Krishna Gaur in a programme organised for the Bhumi Pujan of the project on Tuesday. Public Works Department Minister Gopal Bhargava was the Chief Guest for the function, General Manager HR, BHEL Avinash Chandra and B K Singh, General Manager, Town Administration was also present in the Bhumi Pujan.
The road covers SOS Village, Khajurikalan, and nearby areas where residential colonies have come up in large numbers in the recent years. The officials present in the programme said that the road work will be completed by October. The road was originally proposed by former Chief Minister late Babulal Gaur in 2009.
Addressing the meeting Minister Gopal Bhargava said that he had very cordial relations with late Babulal Gaur ji. He also said that the road will be named after him.
In her address, MLA Krishna Gaur said that the 4.5 km long road passing through SOS Village, Khajurikalan will increase the public transport facility for the region benefitting the residents. The road will be 15 metres wide with 7 metre on either side or a central verge of 1 metre. Street lighting will be done on both sides of the road.
Expressing happiness about the development of the road, Dr. SA Pillai, President of Lord Krishna Temple, Khajurikalan said that the project will bring prosperity to the area and better connectivity for the residents and devotees who visit the temple from far flung areas of the city. Welcoming the initiative by the MLA, AG Vallabhan, President, Bhopal Nair Samaj, Khajurikalan said that this redevelopment was a long standing demand of the residents of the area who were till now facing shortage of public transport and other amenities. He thanked MLA Krishna Gaur for her timely action of development in the area benefitting the residents.
Notably, Khajurikalan area has many Malayalee residents who have been complaining of lack of public facilities like transport, road connectivity, lack of drainage and proper street lights
