IMC to buy 100 vehicles for garbage collection

In the wake of an addition of 80 routes to collect garbage from houses, the municipal corporation is falling short of vehicles, forcing it to buy 100 more vehicles. Besides, under a successful of experiment for cleaning roads with six hand sweeping machines, there is proposal to buy them.

Municipal health department officials are reaching different areas to take stock of the cleanliness system where old vehicles had affected garbage-collection at some places.

According to corporation electrical engineering committee in-charge Jeetu Yadav, there are about 550 vehicles and there is a need for 100 more, which will be purchased at different times.

A large team is deployed in the municipal workshop department to regularly maintain the vehicles. Continuous run has damaged many vehicles. More than 40 vehicles are kept in reserve in the workshop department to be used during a breakdown.
