Gun pointed at worker over garbage mixing

A resident pointed a revolver at a corporation staff in a dispute over stopping him from mixing garbage. Panicked corporation staff had to flee.

Indore | A resident pointed a revolver at a corporation staff in a dispute over stopping him from mixing garbage. Panicked corporation staff had to flee.

Despite a video of the incident being widely circulated online, neither police nor corporation has taken any action. The man pointing the revolver is said to be a relative of a former MLA. No complaint has been made in the matter.

The incident happened at Mangal Vihar Colony of Scheme 103. The garbage collection vehicle had reached the house of petrol pump operator Mahesh Patel. The corporation worker had a dispute with Patel's wife over the matter of separating wet and dry garbage. Mahesh then reached there with a revolver and pointed at the worker and abused him. It is rumoured that there has been a patch-up. Mahesh is said to be a relative of former MLA Manoj Patel.

There have been disputes earlier too regarding separation of wet and dry waste. Corporation staff engaged in door-to-door garbage collection work say that in many areas people mix the waste and do not follow their advice and often argue.
