Bhopal | Diploma Engineers Association held a protest at Ambedkar Park in Bhopal on Tuesday regarding the four-point demands. President of Madhya Pradesh Diploma Engineers Association, Rajendra Singh Bhadauria said that a protest was held to stage a sit-in demonstration regarding other demands including compulsory promotion, designation, contract, lower post, work-charged establishment.

Bhadauria further said, “The sub-engineer cadre is not getting the benefit of a single promotion in the entire service period. That's why it should be mandatory to promote an assistant engineer during the entire service period.

He further said that for the last 6 years, the government has put a ban on promotion by using the Supreme Court as an excuse. Rather no such restriction has been imposed by the Supreme Court. Apart from this, the deputy engineers who have completed 28 years of service should also be given the designation of assistant engineer. The government gives the benefit of promotion and designation to all the officers of police and revenue department. But all the technical departments rejected the proposal given to the sub-engineers at the level of head of the department. By doing this, injustice is being done to Diploma Engineers.

He said, “The posts of Deputy Engineers are not being established for more than 10 years. Because of which thousands of posts of deputy engineers are lying vacant. Like in U.P. and Chhattisgarh a grade pay of Rs 4200 should be given while the state government is paying Rs.3600. The grade is being given less by imposing the conditions of the Public Service Commission. The recruitment of sub-engineer cadre is not done through PSC.

Similarly, our main demands are to give charge of the posts of sub-engineers to diploma engineers working in lower positions and to post work-charged sub-engineers in regular postings.
