BNS holds farewell meet for NUK Menon

The Executive Committee of Bhopal Nair Samaj held a farewell for its former President Dr NUK Menon at Mannam Bhawan, Sri Mannam Khajurikalan Road, Piplani at 9.30 am on 26 March.

Bhopal | The Executive Committee of Bhopal Nair Samaj held a farewell for its former President Dr NUK Menon at Mannam Bhawan, Sri Mannam Khajurikalan Road, Piplani at 9.30 am on 26 March.

During the function, the President, Bhopal Nair Samaj AG Vallabhan recalled his services to BNS and to the social arena of Bhopal. He said that Menon sir made his remarkable contribution in the field of education as a teacher, Principal and Administrator. He also made his mark in the social work as President of BNS for several terms and also while working closely with other Malayalee social organisations in the city.

Former President of BNS G. Pradeep recalled his association with Dr NUK Menon since his schools days in Campion School. He said that it is a loss to the Malayalee community of Bhopal that Dr NUK Menon is shifting from Bhopal to Bangalore. He will always be remembered for his contribution as a teacher and a social worker.

Addressing the gathering, Dr NUK Menon said that he is elated in being given a farewell in ‘Mannam Bhawan’, which his team during his Presidency took all hardships to build. He said that one should do social service with full commitment as it is the service to God. ‘Manav Seva Madhav Seva’was his motive while serving in the social field. “This life will become meaningful only if we see God in all living organisms and serve them from our inner heart,” he said.

The function started by garlanding the statue of NSS founder Bharatha Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan and lighting the lamp by Dr NUK Menon. The function was attended by AG Vallabhan, President Bhopal Nair Samaj, former President G Pradeep, Vice President AV Jawahar, General Secretary Viswanathan N, Finance Secretary AP Salu Nair, Cultural Secretary Bindu Nair, Asst. Secretary Santosh Kurup, Youth Wing Convenor Nidish Nair and all Area Executives of Bhopal Nair Samaj.
