Assembly poll, Regional satraps worrisome for BJP, Congress alike

Narayan Tripathi, who won the election from Maihar on a BJP ticket, is in a rebellious mood for the last one year

Bhopal | As the assembly elections are getting closer, party leaders and MLAs are out with their bargaining tactics to gain maximum leverage in the ticket distribution and also nurturing their hope to become the regional satraps. With the elections in MP only six months away, two such MLAs are becoming an headache for BJP and Congress.

Narayan Tripathi, who won the election from Maihar on a BJP ticket, is in a rebellious mood for the last one year. Last week, he announced to contest elections on 30 seats in Vindhya region by forming a separate party. Even after declaring Narayan Tripathi to openly rebel, BJP is still not able to take any action against him. The name of Narayan's party will be formally announced next month. Currently, out of 30 seats in Vindhya, only 6 have Congress MLAs.

The Congress is internally happy with Tripathi contesting separate elections. Because contesting the election of Tripathi will lead to rapid division of BJP's votes in Vindhya region and Congress will get its advantage. This step of its own MLA is sure to harm BJP but the party has not taken any action against him.

At the same time Dr. Hiralal Alava, national patron of tribal organisation JAYS (Jan Adivasi Yuva Sangathan) and elected as MLA from Manawar in Dhar district on Congress ticket, has already announced that active workers of JAYS will contest elections on tribal seats this time.

Apart from this, on April 26, a meeting with many small parties and various social organisations will be held in Bhopal to prepare an election strategy. Despite being a Congress MLA, Dr. Hiralal Alava will fight separately field candidates. In this case, the loss will be for Congress and BJP will gain in tribal areas. Apart from this, for a long time, he has talked about contesting separate elections from Congress and fielding candidates. Despite this, the party has not taken any action till now.

In fact, Narayan Tripathi has been vocally raising the issues of his area for the last one and a half year from demanding formation of Vindhya Pradesh. Narayan had given a warning to unveil the statue of former CM Arjun Singh, which had been covered in cloth for years, at Bhopal's Vyapam Square, saying it would be an insult to Vindhya.

After this, in a hurry, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan unveiled on March 7. Along with raising the issues of Vindhyas vocally, Narayan will now form a separate party and field candidates on 30 seats in Vindhyas in the assembly elections. After his move, BJP is not taking action on him because if he is expelled from the party, he will spoil the atmosphere of BJP by taking sympathy in assembly elections by playing the card of insulting Vindhya.

National patron of JAYS and Congress MLA from Manawar, Dr. Hiralal Alawa has announced to contest elections on about 80 seats in the state. About seven months ago, apart from this, they have said that they will field their candidates along with smaller parties in 47 tribal seats including SC and OBC, Muslim voters' influence seats. Apart from this, they are preparing their separate manifesto for the assembly elections.

For this , he has sought suggestions through social media. Apart from this, they are seen on the path of separation from Congress but Congress is not in the mood to act against them. KK Mishra, president of the Congress media department, says that the BJP should show action against its MLA Narayan Tripathi. As far as Heera Alava is concerned, Kamal Nath ji has already said that the DNA of Congress and JAYS is the same.

People hang out to celebrate their weekend amid a cool and pleasant weather at Boat Club in Bhopal on Sunday.
