Wrld Head & Neck Cancer Day: Aster Medcity launches 'AAVAZ' - Advanced Centre for Airway, Voice, and SwallowingOrganizes cancer survivors 'Uyare' Get-Together and Art Exhibition

Kochi | As part of World Head & Neck Cancer Day observances, the Centre of Excellence in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at Aster Medcity, Kochi, organized a special get-together and art exhibition titled 'Uyare'. Held at the Aster Medcity Knowledge Hub under the theme 'Together We Rise', the event was attended by T. J. Vinod MLA and renowned music composer Jakes Bejoy as chief guests.

An art exhibition featuring the works of Sivanji, a tongue cancer survivor, was a major highlight of the event. Having overcome cancer and now facing speech difficulties, his paintings vividly expressed his emotions, resilience, and confidence. The occasion also marked the official launch of 'AAVAZ' (Advanced Centre for Airway, Voice, and Swallowing), a specialized facility dedicated to providing advanced care for conditions related to breathing, voice, and swallowing.

“The event was organized to honor the courage and determination of head and neck cancer survivors while raising public awareness about the disease”. said Dr. Shawn T Joseph, Senior Consultant - Program Director Head & Neck Oncology Network, Kerala Cluster, Aster Medcity. Aster Medcity CEO Dr. Nalanda Jayadev, COO Dr. Shuhaib Khader, Senior doctors, management representatives, and healthcare staff of Aster Medcity participated in the program.
