Case registered over theft onboard Rajadhani Express

Kannur | A case has been registered by the Thalassery Railway police on a complaint by a family who reached the state from New Delhi by Rajdhani Express alleging theft of around four sovereigns of gold, some cash and a mobile while the train was in Maharashtra.

Railway police said as per the complaint, the incident occurred at around 2 AM on June 5 when the train was somewhere between Panvel and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

"The family had then complained to the RPF there itself. But once they alighted here at Thalassery, they formally gave a written complaint," a senior RPF official said.

The official also said the complaint has now been forwarded to the corresponding office in Maharashtra.

Since the RPF had informed about the incident to Thalassery railway officials in advance, the officers here received the family when they reached and took down the complaint, the official said.
