New Delhi | Singer Sukriti Kakar has got engaged to her boyfriend Shoumik Shetty.

Kakar shared the news with a post on her Instagram handle on Tuesday, which featured a series of pictures from the proposal. The first picture had Shetty on his knee as he proposed to Kakar. The singer opted for a green strapless bodycon dress, with Shetty wearing a brown suit.

He also re-shared the post. "Today, tomorrow, forever," read the caption. They got engaged on Tuesday.

Kakar and Shetty dated for years prior to their engagement. Kakar is known for songs such as "Jhoome Jo Pathaan", "Kar Gayi Chull" and "Taare". She usually sings with her sister Prakriti Kakar.

Several celebrities went on to congratulate the couple. "Oh, man! Congratulations, guys," Armaan Malik said. "Congratulations, guys," singer Stebin Ben wrote.
