Heartwarming Diwali Gesture Brightens Lives of Kolkata's Housing Security Staff

Diwali gifts to the dedicated security and maintenance personnel at the Moore Avenue Government of West Bengal Housing complex in Kolkata

Kolkata: In a heartwarming act of appreciation and community spirit, Partha Chatterjee, Bureau and East Head for the Vartha News Network Pvt. Ltd. personally distributed Diwali gifts to the dedicated security and maintenance personnel at the Moore Avenue Government of West Bengal Housing complex in Kolkata.

The initiative was organized to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the "Brothers" who provide essential, round-the-clock service to the residents of the complex's 13 blocks and 104 flats. These staff members, appointed by the Government of West Bengal through an agency, work 365 days a year to ensure the safety and upkeep of the housing area.

Chatterjee shared that he "felt blessed" as the staff accepted his "small Diwali gifts." The gesture was made even more poignant when one of the security brothers accepted gifts specifically intended for his entire family—his daughter and wife—along with a little extra for pocket expenses for all the staff during the recent Durga Puja festivities.

"This is a small token of gratitude for the men who safeguard our homes and maintain our community every single day," Chatterjee said. "Their dedication, especially during the festive season, is invaluable."

The event culminated with Chatterjee extending his warmest wishes: "Wishing every one a Happy Diwali & Kali Puja 2025." The gesture has been met with positive sentiment, highlighting the importance of recognizing the essential services provided by community workers.
