In the wake of the recent Union Health Ministry data claiming that this year’s heat wave deaths of 120 in Kerala this year, the highest in the country, Health Minister Veena George has directed the director of the health department to investigate the circumstances that led to misinformation.

Our Bureau Kochi | In the wake of the recent Union Health Ministry data claiming that this year’s heat wave deaths of 120 in Kerala this year, the highest in the country, Health Minister Veena George has directed the director of the health department to investigate the circumstances that led to misinformation of sunstroke deaths. She wanted the director to find out how this happened and also take strict action.

According to a preliminary report of the director, the uploading of wrong information came from the Malur primary health centre, leading to the miscalculation of data in the State.

Instructions have been given to take steps to correct this. No sunstroke deaths have been reported in the State this year. This was also the case last year.
