Warner Bros unveils first teaser of Paul Thomas Anderson-Leonardo DiCaprio's 'One Battle After Another'

Hollywood studio Warner Bros has released the first teaser of "One Battle After Another", the maiden collaboration between acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson and Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio.

Los Angeles | Hollywood studio Warner Bros has released the first teaser of "One Battle After Another", the maiden collaboration between acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson and Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio.

The explosive teaser, which the studio shared on its official social media handles of Thursday evening, opens with DiCaprio taking a sip from his beer pint, while his pregnant partner, played Teyana Taylor, fires an automatic rifle into a distant rural setting.

Amidst the relentless gunfire in the background, the scene shifts to a crib, marking the arrival of their newborn.

“What are you gonna do about this baby?” a voice-over asks the actor.

In the next scene, the grown up child (Chase Infiniti) is also seen firing a rifle. Another scene features actor Sean Penn dragging the child by her neck.

The teaser ends with another question directed at DiCaprio's character: "Just when you think you've got it all figured out?" "One Battle After Another", reportedly mounted on a budget of USD 140 million, is an adaptation of author Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel "Vineland".

The film is Anderson's second adaptation of the author's works, following 2014's "Inherent Vice".

Anderson, known for critically-acclaimed titles such as "Magnolia", "Punch-Drunk Love", "There Will Be Blood", "The Master" and "Phantom Thread", has penned the script of the movie and is also producing along with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner, both of whom worked with the filmmaker on his 2021 movie "Licorice Pizza".

Also starring Regina Hall, Benicio del Toro and Alana Haim, "One Battle After Another" is scheduled for release in the US on September 26.
